The AWARE-RH Project

EngenderHealth manages the Action for West Africa Region Reproductive Health and Child Survival Project (AWARE-RH), a five-year initiative funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) aimed at improving reproductive and maternal and child health services across 21 countries in West Africa.

Headquartered in Accra, Ghana, the AWARE-RH project began in July 2003 and involves the following countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Chad, Côte d'Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo, and more.
