Projects

The RITE Forum has launched four new projects covering various topics including EPS, VII, market-rate parking and distance learning. The individual Special Interest Groups sponsoring these projects are seeking volunteers to participate in the development and execution of the projects. Brief descriptions of each project can be found below.

Forum Projects are only open to ITS America members. For a complete description of each project, visit www.itsa.org/rite_currentprojects.html or contact Forum Director Larry Schulman at lschulman@itsa.org.

New England EPS Workshop

The objective of this project is the planning of a one-day workshop on integrated electronic payment systems in the New England area. The workshop will provide a venue to continue the dialogue and dissemination of information on the challenges and issues associated with the planning and deployment of integrated electronic payment systems. This project is being sponsored by the Electronic Payment Systems SIG managed by the RITE Forum. For additional information contact John Collura at collura@ecs.umass.edu.

Vehicle Infrastructure Integration (VII) Institutional Issues

The objective of this project is to evaluate and make recommendations regarding VII institutional issues so as to gain confidence that a major future investment in VII is not burdened with unanticipated non-technical risks. Issue to be explored include: privacy, propriety, and liability. This project is being sponsored by the RITE Forum. For additional information contact Rob Jaffe at rsj@consystec.com.

Market-Rate Parking

The objective of this project is to explore the concept of market-rate public parking policies and parking management approaches being implemented in various parts of the State of California. This project is being sponsored by the SIGIRL under the management of the RITE Forum. For additional information contact Kan Chen at kan@kanchen.com.

Distance Learning Catalog

The objective of this project is to develop a Catalog of ITS training programs that are available through distance learning programs. This project is being sponsored by the Education and Training SIG managed by the RITE Forum. For additional information contact Kathy Frankle at kfrankle@comcast.net.
