ITS America's State Chapters

The Mission of ITS America's State Chapters

The mission of ITS America’s State Chapters is to promote the effective deployment of intelligent transportation systems (ITS) to improve the safety, reduce congestion, promote energy savings, and protect the environment.  ITS America’s unique position and membership from both the public and private sector enable state and regional chapters to build a local network of peers from all sectors to exchange information and share ideas and best practices that advance ITS.

Roster of ITS America’s State Chapters

ITS America has 24 state and regional chapters representing 35 states. Click here to access a description of each chapter and chapter web sites that are available.

State Chapters Council—Promoting ITS solutions at all levels by connecting national, regional, state and local interests

The State Chapters Council is a volunteer body that serves as a communication channel between ITS America’s State Chapters and ITS America’s Board of Directors.  Each chapter designates an individual to serve on the State Chapters Council to provide a voice for each chapter at the national level.

The State Chapters Council works directly with the ITS America Board of Directors to enable clear expression of issues, direct access and unfiltered communication. The State Chapters Council helps ensure that chapters have direct input on issues of immediate national concern that will ultimately impact state and local entities.

State Chapter Council Membership

Appointed by the ITS America Board of Directors with the advice of the members of the State Chapters Council (SCC), the SCC is led by:

Chairman
Durga Panda
Senior Vice President
Image Sensing Systems
Minneapolis, MN

Vice Chairman
Tom West
California Center of Innovative Transportation

Each of the 24 state and regional chapters of ITS America is represented on the SCC.  Click here for a complete list of chapters, their representatives, and contact information.

The SCC’s working documents, including its charter, strategic plan, and meeting materials are available at State Chapter Council Resources.
