Why Your Food is Safe

The poultry industry is working hard to protect its flocks — and your food supply — from avian influenza. Multiple barriers are in place to keep H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza (Asian avian influenza) out of the flocks. In the very unlikely event that a bird with Asian avian influenza should get to the marketplace, it’s good to know the simple fact that cooking kills the virus.
