The Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) Annual Report
Section 3003 of Public Law 104-66 (Federal Reports Elimination and Sunset Act of 1995) terminated FACA's annual reporting requirement effective May 15, 2000.
The following is the section of the FACA that required the President's annual report to congress on the activities, status, and changes in the composition of advisory committees in existence during the preceding fiscal year.
This requirement had been the basis for the data collected for FACA from 1972 through 1998.
Sec 6(c) Annual Report to Congress
| The President shall, not later than December 31 of each year, make an annual report to the Congress on the activities, status, and changes in the composition of advisory committees in existence during the preceding fiscal year. |
The same data that was collected to produce the Annual Report to Congress is still collected and used to satisfy the evaluation requirements of the Annual Comprehensive Review from Section 7 of FACA. The printed annual reports produced for the Presidents to transmit to Congress from 1972 through 1998 are available in the Printed Annual Reports List.
