The Federal government offers one of the most comprehensive benefits programs to promote the health and well-being of its employees and their families.  Physical and mental well-being are key components of a healthy workforce.  Beyond offering comprehensive health benefits, the Federal Government provides support and assistance to help employees enhance mental and physical well-being, prevent health problems, engage in health-promoting behaviors, and find assistance and support in times of need.

Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB)
Federal employees, retirees, and their survivors enjoy the widest selection of health plans in the country. You can choose from among Fee-for-Service (FFS) plans, and their Preferred Provider Organizations (PPO), or Plans offering a Point of Service (POS) Product, or Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO) if you live (or sometimes if you work) within the area serviced by the plan.
Employee Assistance Program
This program provides a helping hand for dealing with personal problems and stresses and offers confidential assistance related to substance abuse.
Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP)
Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP) The Federal Employee Dental and Vision Benefits Enhancement Act of 2004 established arrangements under which supplemental dental and vision benefits are available to federal employees, retirees, and their dependents.
Federal Employee's Group Life Insurance Program (FEGLI)
World's largest group life insurance program, covering over 4 million Federal employees, retirees, and family members.
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
Federal employees can elect to participate in the Federal Flexible Spending Accounts Program (FSAFEDS). FSAFEDS offers two different FSAs: a health care flexible spending account, and a dependent care flexible spending account.

Fare Subsidy
PHMSA HQ employees receive up to $105 per month towards the cost of commuting costs by public mass transportation.
