Obed Wild & Scenic River
For Teachers

The Obed Wild and Scenic River offers several outstanding resources for teachers. Schools in the neighboring counties and throughout America can contact our park and request brochures. Teachers can bring their classes to our Visitor Center and various sites along the river for their class trips. Park Rangers are available to visit local classrooms and deliver presentations about the river, its inhabitants, and the National Park Service. For those teachers who cannot visit our park, a variety of online sites are listed to help you with your curriculum.

The National Park Service also offers teachers a program called Exploring the Real Thing, a variety of curriculum guides for several NPS sites in the Northeast.  As time goes on, these curriculum guides will be offered for many sites across America.  To check out the program, click here

All in all, the Obed Wild and Scenic River and the National Park Service is very teacher-friendly and geared toward helping you obtain a wealth of information.  Please take advantage of the opportunities listed on these pages.
