Schedule 71 III E - Miscellaneous Furniture

GSA Schedule 71, Part III, Section E (71 III E) Miscellaneous Furniture covers GSA approved security cabinets, modular vaults and vault doors. The GSA approved products are intended for the protection of classified information and weapons as required by the Information Security Oversight Office directive implementing Executive Order (E.O.) 12958 and agency regulations.

Cabinet types include:

  • Filing cabinets with drawers,
  • Map and plan files which have doors and are used for general purpose storage as well as hanging maps or plans, 
  • Information processing system (IPS) containers with rack mounting, 
  • Ventilation and cable access openings for electronic equipment,
  • Accessories for the GSA approved containers include special access control containers, utility lockers, gun racks, key racks, shelves, interior drawers, and more.

GSA approved containers are tested for resistance to attack by a government laboratory under a GSA sponsored program.

Schedule 71 III E also covers commercially available filing cabinets and safes designed for burglary resistance and fire protection. These cabinets and safes are tested to Underwriters Laboratories standards and are rated based upon the type of attack; i.e., tools, torches, explosives, or on the interior temperature of the cabinets in a fire situation.
