ITD unveils accountability Web site
ITD introduced a new Web site this week that tracks the department's progress in addressing recent audits and Governor C.L. "Butch" Otter's executive order to document ongoing efficiencies. "Tracking our Progress" organizes ITD's reporting process into four areas: Accountability and action plans, Reports, Federal stimulus projects and other ITD projects, such as GARVEE projects, project planning and traveler information. Work at State & Glenwood in Boise may cause delays
Traffic signals will be turned off and flaggers used to guide motorists as crews work this weekend (May 8-10) at the intersection of State and Glenwood streets. This is part of a larger Idaho Transportation Department project to repair and resurface State and Glenwood streets (Idaho 44) through Garden City, Boise and Eagle. More . . .
Practical Design efficiencies save ITD $27.2 million
Savings achieved through implementation of a new highway design standard by the Idaho Transportation Department are nearly five times greater than initially expected, reaching $27.2 million in just the first year of the program. From fiscal year 2008 through fiscal year 2012, the department anticipates saving more than $70 million.
