Fort Clatsop Visitor Center

Fort Clatsop Exhibit

• Special Programs Summer daily living history program mid-June through Labor Day.  Educational and historical program schedules available upon request. 
• Exhibits  Step back in time and stand in a 50 foot by 50 foot fort exhibit.  Imagine 33 people in seven rooms, damp and chilled, completing daily chores and surviving the wet coastal winter of 1805-1806.  In 1955 for the Lewis and Clark Sesquicentennial, citizens in Clatsop County built a Fort Clatsop Replica based on the expedition members’ journals and a floor plan drawn by William Clark. During the summer season, visit with rangers in period clothing and learn about the Corps of Discovery.

Netul Landing

• Special Programs -During the summer join a ranger for a guide walk from the fort to the Netul Landing and learn about the wetlands and waterways. 
• Exhibits-     Learn more about the Corps of Discovery by viewing interpretive panels.  Or just enjoy the natural scenery the of the Lewis and Clark River and its wildlife.
• Available Facilities  Transit shelter, pit toilets, canoe/kayak/non-motorized watercraft launch, and trailhead for the Netul River Trail.

Picnic Area (near the Fort Clatsop Visitor Center)

Salt Works (OR)

• Open All Year  no hours
• Location Seaside, Oregon. (Beach Drive and Lewis and Clark Way - park on Beach Drive and walk around the corner.)
• Exhibits  This exhibit marks the location where members of the Expedition set up a camp and boiled seawater to obtain salt for use at the Fort and on the return journey.
• Available Facilities Outdoor exhibit – no restrooms.

Fort to Sea Trail (OR)

• Open All Year
• Location This 6.5 trail runs between Sunset Beach and Fort Clatsop.
• Exhibits Kiosks at each trailhead and an overlook at the summit of Clatsop Ridge.
• Available Facilities Parking and Pit Toilets at both trailheads.

Fort Stevens State Park (OR)

• Open All year
• Location Warrenton, Oregon
• Exhibits  Fort Stevens Military Museum and the Battery Russell (historic military area)
• Available Facilities  Camping, beachcombing, freshwater lake swimming, trails, wildlife viewing, picnic areas, an historic shipwreck and an historic military area make Fort Stevens a uniquely diversified park. A network of nine miles of bicycle trails and six miles of hiking trails allow you to explore the park through spruce and hemlock forests, wetlands, dunes, and shore pine.
