Remediation Technologies Development
 Forum (RTDF)

RTDF promotes collaboration between EPA and industries. The forum was established in 1992 when industry approached EPA to identify what could be done to develop and improve the environmental technologies needed to address their mutual cleanup problems in the safest, most cost-effective way. RTDF is one of a few government programs designed to foster public/private partnerships to conduct laboratory and applied field research to develop, test, and evaluate innovative remediation technologies.

The forum has grown to include partners from industry, several federal and state government agencies, and academia who voluntarily share knowledge, experience, equipment, facilities, and proprietary technology to achieve common cleanup goals. Their goal is to develop more effective, less costly hazardous waste characterization and treatment technologies. RTDF also interacts and communicates with consortia, including the Consortium for Site Characterization Technology and the Advanced Applied Technology Demonstration Facility.
