Skywarn Recognition Day, December 1st
Skywarn Recognition Day was held at the National Weather Service Office in North Platte, from 600 PM Friday - November 30th - through 600 PM Saturday - December 1st, 2007.
Amateur Radio Operators came into the facility to operate radios, and communicated on most of the amateur radio bands. During this event, contacts with HAM radio operators at other National Weather Service Offices across the country, and other amateur radio stations across the world were once again accomplished.

The North Platte Progressive Amateur Radio Club operates on a frequency of 146.700 hz.
When a threat exists for severe weather in Lincoln County the North Platte Progressive Amateur Radio Club provides a ham radio operator at the National Weather Service Office in North Platte. This allows a direct connection between the office and club members dispatched within Lincoln County, who then relay observed conditions from storms.
