[[Page 19783]] ACTION: Notice extending comment period to April 30, 1999. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SUMMARY: In connection with the Federal Trade Commission's request for public comments on U.S. perspectives on consumer protection in the global electronic marketplace announced in 63 FR 69289 (December 16, 1998), the Commission has extended the period to April 30, 1999. Public comments already submitted are posted on the Commission's Web page, at . DATES: The deadline for public comments is April 30, 1999. The dates of the workshop are June 8-9, 1999. COMMENT SUBMISSION PROCEDURE: Written responses should be submitted to: Secretary, Federal Trade Commission, Room H-159, 600 Pennsylvania Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C., 20580. The Commission requests that commenters submit the original plus five copies, if feasible. To enable prompt review and accessibility to the public, responses also should be submitted, if possible, in electronic form, on either one 5\1/4\ or one 3\1/2\ inch computer disk, with a disk label stating the name of the submitter and the name and version of the word processing program used to create the document. (Programs based on DOS or Windows are preferred. Files from other operating systems should be submitted in ASCII text format.)
