Research Project: Cooperation on Biotechnology and Genomics Research on Animal Health

Objective:
The Participants have agreed to cooperate in the broad areas of veterinary science (animal health, animal welfare, food safety and other additional fields). The Participants have jointly decided that cooperation will be based on the following standards: 1. To increase contact and collaboration among scientists in the field of veterinary science between the Participants and other orgainizations that work in this scientific area, 2. To provide researchers and scientists with opportunities to exchange information, ideas , skills and techniques; 3. To enhance opportunities to collaborate in solving problems of common interest relating to veterinary science; 4. To utilize each nation's special veterinary and development facilities for veterinary research; and 5. To encourage the participation of collaborators or third institutional Participants in the framework of the Projects under this Memorandum of Understanding.

Approach:
The specific areas of cooperation may include, but are not limited to, such areas of mutual interest as; 1) animal health; 2) animal genomics; 3) food safety as it elates to veterinary science; 4) bioinformation, and 5) diseases impacting animal health.
