The Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback, was founded to advance biofeedback as a means of encouraging scientific research and improving research methods. The objectives of the organization include the improvement of the clinical use of biofeedback through high standards of professional ethics, conduct, and education; and increased dissemination of knowledge about biofeedback through meetings, workshops, and publications. Annual meetings and workshops provide a forum for the exchange of ideas, methods, and results of biofeedback studies on the application of biofeedback therapy to psychiatry and general medical practice.
