U.S. Government News/Press Release Websites

The Federal Citizen Information Center of the U.S. General Services Administration maintains a valuable website that provides a gateway to news and press release websites throughout the U.S. Government. The U.S. Government News/Press Release Websites page offers visitors easy access to news and press release websites from all parts of the U.S. Government, including the Executive (Cabinet and Independent Agencies), Legislative, and Judicial branches.

For example, if you click on the White House under Executive, you are directed to the Presidential News and Speeches page on the White House website. Clicking on the National Labor Relations Board link under Independent Agencies brings you to the current year's Press Releases page on the NLRB website. Links to the various Cabinet and Independent Agencies of the U.S. Government are provided, including the U.S. Department of Labor. This website is a time saver for those users who are browsing the web for current U.S. Government news and press releases.

Another source of government news is the Government News and USA.gov Media page on the www.USA.gov website. Find federal news and press releases, RSS feeds, e-mail newsletters, USA.gov news and public service announcements, and more.

Google U.S. Government Search <http://www.google.com/ig/usgov> also provides access to government news. Included below the search box are links to government-specific news content from both government agencies and press outlets. For more information, see the past tip on that topic.
