FedStats

FedStats is a resource for statistical information from the Federal Government. This site contains statistics from over 100 U.S. Federal agencies. All of the statistical information from FedStats is maintained and updated by the Federal agencies on their own web servers. There are several different ways to locate information on FedStats.

  • Topic links A to Z provides access to statistical data on topics of your choice. Some of the topics covered are agriculture, education, labor and business.
  • Agencies listed alphabetically provides an alphabetical list of agencies with statistical programs. This page provides a description of the agency statistics with links to the agency homepage, their key statistics and contact information.
  • Agencies by subject is a drop down menu on FedStats' homepage with a selection of subjects such as demographics, economic, income and labor. Once you submit your selection, the next page will list the agencies with links to their homepage, key statistics and contact information. For example, if you select labor, you will retrieve a list containing links to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Employment Standards Administration, Employment and Training Administration, and the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Policy.
  • Search provides a keyword search tool where you can use words or phrases ("within quotation marks") to search across agency websites. The results of your search will be a list of document links to various agency statistics based on the keywords that you use.
  • MapStats provides statistical profiles of states, counties, Federal judicial districts or congressional districts. You can also access this information from a drop down menu underneath MapStats on the FedStats homepage. Statistical information covers population, people, business and geography.
  • Statistical Reference Shelf provides links to full text statistical works such as Statistical Abstract of the United States, State and Metropolitan Area Data Book, Health United States, and Report on the American Work Force 2001. There are also links to the Federal Statistics Briefing Rooms.
