Michelle Yeh, Ph.D

Michelle Yeh is an engineering psychologist in the Human Factors Division of the U.S. Department of Transportation's John A. Volpe National Transportation Systems Center. She received her doctorate in Psychology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

At the Volpe Center, Michelle works on projects to support the FAA. She is part of a team working to develop human factors guidelines for electronic flight bags, electronic charts, and surface moving map displays.

Michelle has published articles on the attentional implications in the design of symbology for helmet-mounted displays, human interaction with automation, and display design. Prior to joining the Volpe Center, she worked on user interfaces for websites and conducted research into the use of wearable display technology, virtual cockpit displays, and future Army systems. Additionally, she assisted as a lecturer for an undergraduate human factors course at MIT. She is a member of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society.
