State Advisories on Methylmercury in Fish

On January 12, 2001 FDA issued a Talk Paper announcing a Consumer Advisory on Methylmercury in Fish. The Advisory, which was updated in March 2001, was entitled An Important Message for Pregnant Women and Women of Childbearing Age Who May Become Pregnant About the Risks of Mercury in Fish. The Advisory suggests consumers check with their state or local health departments to see if there are special advisories on fish caught from waters in their local areas. Links to State Health Departments are provided below for your information.
