Governor Rell Announces Additional 3 Communities Awarded Federal Foreclosure Relief Funds |
| Governor M. Jodi Rell today announced that three communities – Danbury, New London and Norwich – will split the remaining $2.6 million from the state’s allotment of federal Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) funds. Connecticut was awarded more than $25 million in funding last December.

Governor Rell: State Loan to Help Defray Costs of Henkel HQ Move to Connecticut |
| Governor M. Jodi Rell today announced that a loan of $825,000 to help Henkel of America Inc. help defray the costs of moving its corporate offices to Connecticut and adding 80 new jobs is expected to gain approval when the state Bond Commission meets April 24.

Walgreens 15th Distribution Center Opens in Connecticut and Creates Jobs for People with Disabilities |
| Walgreens (NYSE, NASDAQ: WAG) today opened its newest distribution center in Windsor, Conn., where 30 percent of the workforce is made up of people with disabilities.
Employees with disabilities have been trained to work side-by-side with other team members – with the same productivity goals, earning the same pay. Disabilities range from autism and retardation to hearing and physical impairments. An on-site training facility helps those with special needs become prepared for employment so everyone can work productively and effectively.

Governor Rell Announces State to Assist Marketing Company’s Expansion |
| Windsor Marketing Group (WMG), which has facilities in Windsor Locks and Suffield, develops, manufactures and distributes in-store marketing programs for retailers. The company is committed to helping retailers and shoppers. The company is adding 39,600 square feet at its Suffield location in Marketing Research Park. The addition will expand WMG’s footprint to house additional state-of-the-art printing and distribution operations. The expansion will also allow the company to continue to improve its substantial green initiatives. |

Tax Plan Will Cost Jobs and Hurt Economy |
| Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Joan McDonald today announced that an economic analysis conducted by the department shows that the recent proposals by the Finance Committee to impose a 30 percent surcharge on corporate taxes and to eliminate the sales tax exemption on computer and data processing services could cost Connecticut 2,670 jobs each year for the next 10 years, resulting in a decline in the state’s gross domestic product of $344 million a year for the next ten years. |
