GSA is working with service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses (SDVOSBs) and federal agencies to increase SDVOSB contracting volume with the government. This effort is enhanced by a change to the law that allows agencies to set aside certain contracts or sole-source them to SDVOSBs.

GSA’s small business support contacts, located across the country, will reach out to SDVOSBs. Training will be offered on how to become a contractor on GSA’s Federal Supply Schedules and how to sell to the $280 billion federal marketplace.

Meanwhile, GSA is partnering  with other agencies to ensure that contracting officers across the federal government are aware of the GSA procurement vehicles that include SDVOSBs. GSA is identifying this business classification on the services and products it offers on GSA Advantage!, its online ordering system. A list of GSA Schedule SDVOSB contractors* is also available. Contracting offices can use this information to help reach the goal, set by Congress, of awarding three percent of government spending to this special segment of business owners.

*Not on the list but should be? If you are already a GSA Schedule contractor and you qualify as a SDVOSB vendor, call your contracting officer!
