GSA Further Defines Leadership Roles In FAS

Posted October 21, 2005

Administrator Stephen A. Perry of the U.S. General Services Administration recently moved the establishment of the agency’s Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) another step forward by naming the individuals who will fill key leadership roles.

On October 18, Perry identified those who would be acting assistant regional administrators and acting deputy assistant regional administrators in the FAS zonal offices as well as the acting assistant commissioner for acquisition management in the FAS national office.

“As the customer-facing component of FAS, associates in the zones and their leadership are essential to developing a results-oriented organization that anticipates and delivers on customer requirements,” said Administrator Perry. “I am proud of the team that we have assembled to lead the FAS organization am also confident that each will work to achieve excellence in acquisition on behalf of federal agencies and the American taxpayer.”

“I really appreciate the hard work that has been done towards establishing FAS,” said Deputy Administrator David L. Bibb. “I look forward to working with Acting FAS Commissioner Barbara L. Shelton and GSA’s regional administrators across the nation to continue to build this new organization.” Bibb assumes the role of Acting GSA Administrator on November 1, following Perry’s departure on October 31.
