Key Duties and Responsibilities:

The Law Enforcement Specialist serves as an instructor and course developer in assigned course areas of law enforcement. The major functions are to provide high quality training to criminal investigators and law enforcement officers from a wide variety of different Federal partner organizations, and to instill the technical and analytical knowledge, skills and attitudes needed for the highest proficiency in this specialized field. The objective of this training is to build student proficiency in selected subject areas and to promote a team concept between law enforcement agencies.

The Law Enforcement Specialist develops course material in the field of law enforcement; initiates content changes, developing different approaches and methods of instruction; and initiates any other changes needed to improve the course; and participates in ad hoc committees made up of representatives of the FLETC and other agencies concerned with training policies and academic requirements.
