Opportunities
for Restoration Partners
Community-based Habitat Restoration National
and Regional Partnerships
When funding allows, the CRP develops new national and regional partnerships that lead to on-the-ground, community-based restoration of marine, coastal, and freshwater habitats to benefit living marine resources, including migratory fish species. The opportunity is open to current and previous NOAA Habitat Restoration Partners as well as organizations applying for the first time. The next notification of available funding for multi-year, national and regional Habitat Restoration Partnerships is expected to be announced in the NOAA Omnibus Federal Register Notice in June 2009 for fiscal year 2010-2012 funding.
Successful applicants will be those whose partnership proposals are broad-reaching and demonstrate the potential for significant benefits to living marine resources across a large geographic area, and those whose restoration projects will actively engage community participation. Applicants selected to establish habitat restoration partnerships with NOAA on a national or regional level will be funded through a three-year cooperative agreement mechanism, and the relationship will involve joint selection and co-funding of multiple community-based restoration projects.
Applicants interested in forming Habitat Restoration Partnerships are encouraged to develop a relationship with CRP staff. The document below is provided to help applicants develop partnership ideas.
