NOAA Habitat Restoration Partners Through the CRP, NOAA awards millions of dollars to national and regional partners and local grassroots organizations ever year.
These partnerships occur in all our projects and bring together groups such as:
- Non-profit and non-governmental organizations
- Community organizations
- State and local governments
- Other federal agencies
- Tribal Nations
- Recreational and commercial fishing organizations
- Students and educational institutions
- Youth conservation corps
- Private landowners
Our established, three-year NOAA Habitat Restoration Partnerships are invaluable to us and to our partners. Our partners help the Restoration Center to leverage available funds through cash match and local contributions, including land, volunteer support, and other in-kind services such as technical support and local knowledge. In return, NOAA Restoration Center regional staff offer one-on-one technical and permitting assistance in restoring habitats required by marine and anadromous fish, endangered species, and other living marine resources.
NOAA Habitat Restoration Partners work with the Restoration Center under three-year cooperative agreements to restore marine, estuarine and migratory fish habitat around the coastal United States. The next notification of available partnership funding is expected to be announced in June, 2009. For more information on becoming a partner, click here: Becoming
