The Master of Public Health (MPH)
The Master of Public Health (MPH) is a degree program which provides integrated training in the core competencies of the field of public health. The MPH program is targeted toward professionals with a minimum of two years of prior experience in the health arena with a population perspective on health who wish to address current or emerging public health challenges. Medical students are also eligible for the program after the completion of their second year of medical school. MPH graduates of the Bloomberg School include people from a wide variety of professions such as clinicians, attorneys, social workers, researchers, teachers and social scientists.

Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
Studies the molecular and genetic bases of cellular processes and increases knowledge of the biochemical, genetic and molecular mechanisms of cellular processes

Biostatistics
Creates and applies methods from across the spectrum of statistical science to support quantitative research in the health sciences

Environmental Health Sciences
Examines how agents in the biological, chemical and physical environment affect human health

Epidemiology
Studies the distribution of infectious diseases and works to determine the health and disease risk among human populations

Health, Behavior and Society
Uses a multidisciplinary research program to study and evaluate ways to increase healthy behaviors and combat the spread of infectious disease, while training new leaders in the field

Health Policy and Management
Advances the public’s health through the development, implementation and evaluation of effective health and social policies

International Health
Draws on all public health disciplines and applies them to international settings

Mental Health
Works to prevent and control mental disorders, including alcohol and drug dependence syndromes and neuropsychiatric conditions such as Alzheimer's disease

W. Harry Feinstone Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology
Integrates many disciplines concerned with the study of the transmission, immunobiology and pathogenesis of bacterial, parasitic, viral, infectious and immunological diseases

Population, Family and Reproductive Health
Works to address patterns of population growth and reproduction and to assure the health and development of human populations

Interdepartmental Programs

Applied Public Health
The Interdepartmental Program in Applied Public Health (APH) engages students in professional practice and establishes networking and training relationships with the local, state and federal public health practice communities. The APH program strives to improve and advance the capabilities of the public health workforce and develop the skills of the next generation of public health professionals by providing training sessions, programs, internships and other activities that promote interaction between JHSPH and the practice community.

Graduate Training Program in Clinical Investigation
The Graduate Training Program in Clinical Investigation (GTPCI) is targeted toward internal-physician postdoctoral fellows and faculty in clinical departments of the School of Medicine. The PhD, MS and MHS degrees in Clinical Investigation are a joint enterprise of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
