This web resource is a collaborative effort among regional partners, such as state natural resource agencies and nonprofit organizations, and the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) to monitor populations of vocal amphibians. Amphibian population data are collected using a calling survey technique, in which observers identify local amphibian species by their unique vocalizations. This resource provides access to volunteer information, protocols the describe how the NAAMP calling survey data are collected, a link to data that is a portal to the database, where data for the NAAMP calling survey can be entered and stored, frog call quiz for training and testing for learning and identifying frogs by their breeding vocalizations in the eastern and central United States, and a link to other information, which is a listing of other amphibian-related websites, including other volunteer opportunities, education and conservation websites, and other USGS amphibian websites.
