IMPORTANT NOTICE - All impoundment and dust fraud inquiries/complaints should now use the MSHA Code-a-Phone line on (800) 746-1553. This single automated line is now set up to accommodate each of the 3 previous complaint lines; Code-a Phone complaints, Impoundment Hot-line complaints, and the Dust Fraud Hot-line.


To notify MSHA of a mine accident or emergency, call your local MSHA office. If you are unable to contact your local MSHA office, call (800) 746-1553.

To report a hazardous condition at a mine to MSHA, call (800) 746-1553. You may also use MSHA's National Hazard Reporting Page. Either way, you do not need to identify yourself.
