The RSPA is responsible for a variety of safety and regulatory programs. The Office of Pipeline Safety is responsible for regulating the safe transportation of 1.5 million miles of interstate & intrastate natural gas pipelines. The Office of Hazardous Material Transportation issues standards for almost all types of hazardous materials transportation.
