Career Resident Program

Contract Specialist

As an entry level Contract Specialist at TSA, you will be responsible for the acquisition of supplies and services of importance to the agency. This includes responsibilities in the areas of solicitation, negotiation, award, and administration of purchase orders and contracts. Additional duties may include developing and implementing acquisition strategies, as well as price/cost analysis and a wide variety of other procurement activities. You will also be responsible for providing technical advice and guidance, and interpretation of federal contracting rules and regulation.

IT Specialist

As an entry level IT Specialist at TSA, you will be an important team member assisting on projects and programs involving the application of standard IT assessment tools and choosing among well-precedence software and hardware. You will also work with other IT Specialists and managers to recommend programming modifications to formats. You will have contact with internal and external IT customers where you will help to provide information, analysis, and project updates. Your position will allow you to evaluate established methods and procedures and prepare recommendations for changes in methods and practices on specific projects.

General Engineer

As an entry level General Engineer at TSA, you will apply your knowledge of engineering principles, theories and concepts to perform a mixture of work assignments as a part of a team. Your work will cover a variety of duties including providing input on design work, assisting with routine field inspections, conducting trend analysis with engineering data, developing technical requirements for security equipment/systems, as well as performing engineering tests by applying well-established methods and procedures.

Economist

As an entry level Economist at TSA, you will apply your technical knowledge of economic analysis methods and techniques to perform a mixture of work assignments as a part of a team. Your work will cover a variety of duties including collecting, recording and analyzing data and information; identifying problems and performing analysis. You will be involved in collecting economic data and processing economic statistical data according to stated standards.

Transportation Security Specialist

As an entry level Transportation Security Specialist at TSA, you will apply your technical knowledge and experience to perform a mixture of security related assignments as a part of a team. Your work will cover a variety of duties including developing briefings on factual information relative to strategic security priorities from unclassified information; preparing, compiling, and editing portions of TSA’s regulatory plan and semi-annual Regulatory Agenda; as well as collecting, recording and analyzing data, identifying problems and performing analysis related to the transportation security field.

Program Analyst

As an entry level Program Analyst at TSA, you will use your knowledge and experience to perform a mixture of duties related to your program office. This is a wide ranging occupation and the duties will cover a variety of work assignments in support of the organization’s mission, vision, and goals. The work of a Program Analyst generally includes working as a part of a team to support programs, studies, and analysis; researching best practices and regulations to recommend approaches or solutions to problems or concerns; providing guidance and advice to internal customers; and assisting higher level workers in the design and conduct of management studies.

Budget Analyst

As an entry level Budget Analyst at TSA, you will use your knowledge and experience to perform a mixture of budgeting assignments as a part of a team. Your work will cover a variety of duties including gathering budgeting data and information, explaining regulations, and discussing the customer’s situation; providing factual advice and guidance on requirements of well-established guidelines; researching laws, regulations, procedures and past practices to recommend approaches or solutions to problems or concerns; and analyzing and comparing budget obligations and expenditures in the approved operating budget.

Paralegal Specialist

As an entry level Paralegal Specialist at TSA, you will use your knowledge and experience to perform a mixture of assignments as a part of a team. Your work will cover a variety of duties including reviewing case materials; searching for and summarizing relevant articles in trade magazines, law reviews, published studies, financial reports, and similar materials for use of attorneys in the preparation of opinions, briefs, and other legal documents; preparing digests of selected decisions or opinions which incorporate legal references and analyses of precedents involved in areas of well-defined and settled points of law; participating in pre-trial witness conferences, noting any deficiencies in case materials and additional issues or other matters requiring investigation prior to trial, and requesting further investigation by other agency personnel to correct deficiencies or personally conducts limited investigations at the pre-trial stage; preparing and organizing trial exhibits, as required, such as statistical charts and photographic exhibits; and preparing summaries of testimony and depositions to include drafting and editing non-legal memoranda, research reports, and correspondence relating to cases.
