TSA remains a hotbed of training for careers in security and law enforcement. That was again evidenced when Lead Transportation Security Officer Walter Sierra and Supervisory TSO John Schaefer, both of Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, Calif., graduated near the top of their class as airport police officers on May 31.

"While we hate to see these two officers leave our ranks, we are proud of their success," said Federal Security Director Shannon Garcia-Hamilton of Bob Hope Airport. "Obviously the TSA training and experience is well-respected by other law enforcement agencies, and our people are a proven commodity."

Since 2005, 14 TSOs from Burbank have joined various law enforcement agencies.
