TSA Names Alvy Dodson as Federal Security Director for Dallas Love Field Airport

DALLAS - The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has named Alvy Dodson federal security director (FSD) for Dallas Love Field Airport (DAL).

Prior to joining TSA for this role, Dodson served as director/vice president of the Department of Public Safety at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). In this position, he was responsible for public safety at the world's third busiest airport and managed all aspects of DFW security including police, fire, emergency medical services and civilian security efforts. Dodson was in Public Safety at DFW for 29 years after beginning his law enforcement career with the Arlington (Texas) Police Department.

"Alvy Dodson is a leader within the aviation security arena. His exceptional work at DFW airport has designated him as one of the most highly regarded leaders of airport security throughout the nation," said Mo McGowan, TSA's assistant administrator for security operations. "His background and institutional knowledge will be a tremendous asset to TSA and we are delighted that he has joined our executive team."

Dodson holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. He is a 1981 graduate of the Southwest Legal Foundation School of Police Supervision at the University of Texas - Dallas, a 1986 graduate of the FBI National Law Enforcement Academy at Quantico, Va., a 1993 graduate of the International Aviation Management Training Institute in Montreal, Canada, and a 1998 graduate of the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar at Quantico.
