Welcome to Pennsylvania's Laurel Highlands where the spectacular natural scenery is one of the main attractions in any season. Legendary architect Frank Lloyd Wright was inspired by the region's beautiful setting as he designed Fallingwater®. Years later and just six miles away he would design Kentuck Knob - another architectural masterpiece that is also open to the public for tours. The region may now boast that it has a third Wright-designed home with the 2007 opening of The Duncan House - a 1957 Usonian home that accommodates overnight guests.

The region features some of the mid-Atlantic's most exhilarating outdoor recreation. The Youghiogheny River offers Class I-IV whitewater rafting, the Great Allegheny Passage - the longest rail-trail in the east and the highly ranked Laurel Highlands Hiking trail. Golfers are offered a range of courses from the PGA course Mystic Rock to well-groomed public links for golfers of all skill levels.

When you have Pennsylvania's highest mountaintop in your backyard [Mount Davis, 3,213 ft.], then you have some serious vertical and it's no wonder that Seven Springs Mountain Resort was voted the #1 Ski Resort in the Mid-Atlantic by Ski Magazine.

Families not only love Seven Springs but Idlwild & SoakZone. For the third year running, the amusement park has been voted the #2 Best Kid's Park in the World by Amusement Today Magazine.

After all of this adventure, you may need some pampering and there's no better place than Nemacolin Woodlands Resort's internationally acclaimed Woodlands Spa.

History buffs will not want to miss our impressive French & Indian War sites including Fort Necessity where George Washington's military career began and Fort Ligonier where a key strategic battle of the French & Indian War occurred.

Getting here is easy, the Laurel Highlands is just an hour's drive east of Pittsburgh within easy access of the Pennsylvania Turnpike as well as two historic routes, the Historic National Road (U.S. 40) and the Lincoln Highway (U.S. 30).
