UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
DEPARTMENT OF LABOR

In the Matter of

ASBESTOS WORKERS JOINT APPRENTICESHIP
    COMMITTEE, INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA

Deregistration Proceeding under 29 CFR Part 30, Equal Employment Opportunity in Apprenticeship and Training

DECISION OF THE ASSISTANT SECRETARY OF
LABOR FOR MANPOWER

Based upon an examination of the complete record before me, including (1) the transcript of the October 31, 1972 hearing in the above matter and all exhibits thereto; (2) the fact that towards the conclusion of the October 31 hearing the sponsor remedied its deficiencies under 29 CFR Part 30 to the satisfaction of the Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training; and (3) the proposed findings and recommended decision of Administrative Law Judge Samuel A. Chaitovitz, dated December 12, 1972, recommending that the program not be deregistered, I have decided not to deregister the Indianapolis Asbestos Workers JAC program at this time. The sponsor, of course, remains subject to enforcement action for any future violations of its equal employment opportunity obligations under 29 CER Part 30.

DATED: JAN 8 1975

       Malcolm R. Lovell, Jr.
       Assistant Secretary
