Federal Acquisition Regulation Provisions and Clauses for Purchasing EPEAT - Registered Products

On December 26, 2007, the Federal Acquisition Regulation was amended to add provisions for implementing the E.O. 13423 requirement that, when purchasing certain electronic products covered by the EPEAT standard, 95% of what the agencies purchase must be EPEAT-registered products. This is an interim final rule that goes into effect immediately, although the FAR Councils are accepting comments. Among other things, the new FAR provisions provide a contract clause for purchasing EPEAT products at the bronze level and an alternate clause for purchasing such products at the silver level.
