Grants

The Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance sponsers the grant programs listed below. Additional EPA grants, including a list of currently open grant opportunities, are at Grant Competition Web site. Federal grant opportunities for states, tribes and territories are contained in the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance. After you find the program you want, contact the office that administers the program and find out how to apply. For other non-EPA grants, visit Grants.gov.

State and Tribal Assistance Grants

States and tribes play a crucial role in the implementation of our nation's environmental laws and regulations. EPA's enforcement and compliance assurance program forges strong partnerships with states and tribes through cooperative agreements, known as State and Tribal Assistance Grants (STAG). EPA sponsors three opportunities for states and tribes to apply for funding under the compliance and enforcement STAG program.

State Environmental Enforcement Training Grant

The State Environmental Enforcement Training Program grants are managed by the National Enforcement Training Institute (NETI) and are intended to build state capacity for monitoring compliance with and enforcing violations of environmental laws and regulations.  The program provides training opportunities throughout the 50 United States and reaches a variety of professional disciplines, covering multiple statutes/media/programs.  This grant program is being competed for the first time in FY2009.
