New! GSA is encouraged by the level of interest in 8(a) STARS II. Many 8(a) organizations requested that the contracting officer allow additional time to better prepare for the coming solicitation, which was anticipated to be released mid-April 2009. GSA is amenable to providing additional time as it helps promote competition, so it is now planning to release the solicitation in May 2009. This does not impact the intention to have offers due before summer 2009.
The 8(a) STARS II GWAC is a small business set-aside procurement for technology solutions. It is designed to promote small business utilization when purchasing technology solutions for the federal government.
