ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE
The captioned matter was set for hearing on Monday,
August 31, 1981 in Bloomington, Illinois, pursuant to Notice
issued on August 11, 1981. The hearing was noticed pursuant
to a complaint filed by the Complainant requiring expeditious
disposition.
The Complainant failed to appear at the scheduled
August 31, 1981 hearing or to give timely written notice
that he did not intend to appear. His failure to appear
entailed considerable expense and inconvenience on all
concerned with the hearing. For example, the following items
are mentioned:

1. Scheduling of hearing room and holding
it for use when Complainant did not appear;
2. Cost of Administrative Law Judge's
expenses for hotel lodging, meals and travel
over a week-end to be able to appear for a
Monday hearing;
3. Cost and expenses of a Reporter hired
to transcribe the hearing and who travelled
from Kansas City.
4. The inconvenience of putting defendant
to the expense of travelling from Chicago to
Bloomington, Illinois to appear at the hearing;
5. The inconvenience of putting defendant
to expense and time of bringing its witnesses.
to hearing when Complainant did not appear.
In view of the foregoing and such other reasons as are
apparent in matters of this nature when a Complainant fails
to pursue his complant,
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that Complainant show cause within
15 days from date of issuance of this show cause notice why
this proceeding should not be dismissed.
