Harrington was President of the University of Wisconsin System. This picture was taken in 1967, the year in which Lederberg was awarded an honorary degree by the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Lederberg in turn gave his Nobel medal as a gift to the University. This photo captures the presentation of the medal to the President of the university.
