Applications for Grand Challenges in Global Health grants now being accepted
Grand Challenges in Global Health is a family of grants offered by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to researchers for developing new tools to address major but inadequately addressed diseases that affect developing countries. The programme seeks to engage creative minds across scientific disciplines - including those who have not traditionally taken part in health research - to work on solutions that could lead to breakthrough advances. Applications are being accepted through 28 May.

Call for nominations for the Kochon Prize
The Stop TB Partnership-Kochon Prize supports the global fight against tuberculosis.The Prize is awarded once a year to persons, institutions or organizations that have made a highly significant contribution to combating tuberculosis. The prize consists of a medal and US$ 65 000.

Nominations for the 2009 Kochon Prize must be submitted by 23:59 GMT + 1 on 31 July 2009
