PHMSA will meet with the Japanese Battery Association Safety Committee and tour Sony, Sanyo, and Panasonic lithium battery manufacturing facilities.  Together with the site visits in Taipei, Taiwan, PHMSA will use facts gathered to formulate action plans to enhance the safe transport of lithium-ion batteries.
