Tajik Human Trafficking Film Debuts at Minsk Festival
The film “Boz ki” was chosen for screening at the XIV Film Festival in Minsk, Belarus November 17–24, 2007. “Boz ki” was created with support from the USAID Trafficking in Persons Prevention Project, implemented by the International Organization for Migration. “Boz ki” tells the story of Tajik migrant laborers and the challenges they face as they set out to earn their living in Russia. This film will also be shown widely in Tajikistan during a USAID-supported public-awareness campaign on human trafficking issues to inform those travelling abroad for work so that they may protect themselves from falling prey to traffickers. Human trafficking discussions will accompany each screening.
The Trafficking in Persons Prevention Project was established to combat the rising risk of trafficking in persons in the region and a growing concern for Tajikistan.
