Jimmy H. Bridgeman - Acting Regional Administrator, Southeast Sunbelt Region

Jimmy H. Bridgeman was Appointed Acting Regional Administrator for GSA’s Southeast Sunbelt Region effective January 20, 2009. 

In his role as principal executive of the region, Bridgeman will head a GSA work force of nearly 1,000 employees across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

The Southeast Sunbelt Region has one of the largest construction/renovation programs among GSA regions. Its total workload is valued at $1.7 billion in capital projects, $33 million in minor repair and alteration projects, and $373 million in reimbursable projects.

Before this appointment, Bridgeman was Deputy Regional Administrator for the Regional Public Building Service.  In that position, he was responsible for a real estate portfolio of more than 33 million square feet of space and more than 1,300 buildings in the region’s eight Southeastern states.  He began his career at GSA as an architect and construction engineer.

Bridgeman is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and the John Marshall Law School.
