People's Choice Awards at Meriwether's Restaurant
Tour of Meriwether's Skyline Farm Followed By a Farm-To-Table Dinner at Meriwether's Restaurant
In recent years, there has been a growing desire to increase the sustainability of our food production. The relationship between farmer and chef is also becoming increasingly important. Meriwether's Restaurant , located in downtown Portland, gives particular focus to these issues and is one of the few restaurants in the United States that grows its own produce—planting and harvesting the majority of the vegetables used in the restaurant on their very own five acre farm (a short 11 miles from their restaurant location). Join us for a personal tour of Meriwether's Skyline Farm with the restaurant owner, chef and the farm manager. You will see and learn about the food that will be harvested that day to become part of the dinner you will enjoy at Meriwether's Restaurant.
A motorcoach will drive you to the farm and will return you to Meriwether's, where you will enjoy a farm-to-table dinner (a cash bar will be available). Following dinner, Meriwether's will host the People's Choice Awards. The awards ceremony will highlight exceptional radio and video public service announcements (PSAs) that focus on nonpoint source and stormwater messages. Awards will be given to the PSAs that receive the greatest audience response in each category. Guests are invited to stand up and cheer for their favorites!
