Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Use:
OHV use occurs throughout the Monticello BLM Field Office area, but most intensely in Butler Wash, Indian Creek, Piute Pass, and Jacob’s Chair. During the winter months, primary OHV use occurs within the western portions of the Field Office area. Additional OHV use occurs on roads originally constructed for mining activities and along San Juan County Class B and D roads, which are located throughout the Field Office area. The Monticello Field Office is currently in the process of revising its Land Use Plan, which will include a comprehensive Travel Management Plan that will designate specific OHV areas and routes.
