Multi-level car crush analysis

This video shows five views of the simulated crush behavior of multi-level rail passenger equipment. This first view shows a plan view of the entire undeframe of the car. The end of the vehicle on the right is crushed by a moving wall, that is not visible in the frame. The second view is an elevation view of the car end that is crushed. The vertical displacement of the underframe can be seen as the car longitudinally crushes. The third view shows just the underframe of the car end that crushes. The vertical asymmetry of the crushing of the left and right side sills can be seen in this view. The fourth view shows an elevation view of the car end that is crushed, including the body shell. The fifth and final view shows an elevation view of just the underframe. The lateral asymmetry of the crushing of the left and right side sills can be seen in this view.
