Authority
The Regional and Program Office Web Infrastructure Coordinators report to the Regional or Assistant Administrator’s Senior Information Resources Management Official (SIRMO), Information Resource Management (IRM) branch chief or Information Technology (IT) manager.
Responsibilities
The Regional/Program Office Infrastructure Coordinator:
- Works with the EPA Web Workgroup network to design and maintain information architecture, technology infrastructure, and metadata support for EPA’s Web site.
- Works with regional and OEI technical managers to define, promote, and oversee Agency-wide technical standards to ensure that epa.gov is secure and reliable and that there is data integrity.
- Coordinates Web management and oversight to support Web site development. Assists EPA offices in understanding audiences and Web site usage.Provides access to Web Workgroup expert consultative services on a variety of platforms and software systems.
- Assists with defining content and infrastructure and in sharing solutions across the network.
- Manages the refinement and implementation of Agency and Federal Web policies and ensures compliance with these policies.
- Implements ‘One Agency, One Voice.,’ Works with OEI technical and policy staff to organize and create Agency-wide Web resources.
- Coordinates with regional and national Web governing team and OEI staff who develop Web enhancement services and processes (e.g., Web publication processes).
- Manages reporting of Web site statistics and makes these reports available for regional staff review.
- Provides integrated Web solutions that draw on EPA sanctioned technology such as, GIS, Domino, Cold Fusion and Oracle.
Qualifications
The Regional/Program Office Infrastructure Coordinator shall have:
- The ability to communicate with technical and policy staff experts, internal and external stakeholders, and all levels within an organization.
- Collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of Web information architecture and technical infrastructure.
- Knowledge of public access goals and policy objectives.
- The ability to translate goals into policies.
- The ability to identify Web service/process needs and how to pursue solutions.
- Knowledge of OEI organizational functions, and where to find expertise on Web infrastructure, tools, processes.
- Basic knowledge of Human Design Interface principles.
- Project manager experience.
