CVISN Grant Process

The Commercial Vehicle Information Systems and Networks (CVISN) grant funding is authorized by Section 4126 of SAFETEA - LU (Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users). The expected level of funding for CVISN in FY 2009 is $25,000,000. This is a discretionary grant program that provides funding for states and the District of Columbia to deploy, operate, and maintain elements of their CVISN programs, including commercial vehicle, commercial driver, and carrier-specific information systems and networks. The agency in each state and the District of Columbia that is designated as the primary agency responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of CVISN-related systems is eligible to apply for grant funding.

Applicants must be registered with grants.gov to apply for funding. Applicants who have not previously registered with grants.gov should visit:

http://www.grants.gov/applicants/get_registered.jsp.

Registration with grants.gov may take two to five days before the system will allow access to the grant application package. Applicants must download the grant application package, complete the grant application package, and submit the completed grant application package on the Internet at http://www.grants.gov/applicants/apply_for_grants.jsp.

The CVISN Collaboration site has more information on the CVISN Grant process. Please see the related links on this page.
