USDA Forest Service International Programs
USDA Forest Service International Programs promote sustainable forest management and biodiversity conservation internationally by linking the skills of the field-based staff of the USDA Forest Service with partners overseas to address the most critical forestry issues and concerns. Many units of the Forest Service are engaged in this work, which advances sustainable forest management both overseas and in the United States. This branch of the Forest Service partners internationally on a wide range of natural resource management, policy and research issues. Since international cooperation is necessary to sustain the ecological and commercial viability of global forest resources and to conserve biodiversity, most the work of Forest Service International Programs is done in collaboration with other organizations. Strong partnerships with land grant universities, environmental NGO’s and the private sector make this work integrated and comprehensive.
