Workplace Volunteer Programs Will Receive Awards
ATLANTA – Citizen engagement is proving to be key to building healthy communities and a better quality of life for people. Business leaders, in particular, realize that what is good for the community also is good for their companies and employees. On June 2nd, Points of Light & Hands On Network will recognize companies raising the volunteerism bar to new heights. These companies will be presented with the organization’s Awards for Excellence in Workplace Volunteer Programs before thousands of attendees at the National Conference on Volunteering and Service in Atlanta. The awards, in their 15th year, honor a business' overall employee volunteer effort, including the actual service projects, program policies and corporate vision that support those volunteer activities.
The 2008 award recipients will receive their honors at the Hilton Hotel’s Crystal Ballroom in downtown Atlanta beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, June 2. Additional Photos:
